So 50 Cent pulled up on The Tonight Show and dropped a gem that nobody saw coming. Before he was the Power boss, before G-Unit, before all the money and the memes, dude was answering to Boo Boo. Yeah, you heard that right. Boo Boo. He told Jimmy Fallon that straight faced, and honestly it’s the most humanizing thing we’ve heard from him in a minute. He’s cool with Fifty now, but the fact that he kept it 100 about the old days? That’s that real energy. But he didn’t stop there. He’s out here promoting Fightland, his new Starz show set in the U.K. boxing scene.
Think grit, crime, and London grime all wrapped into one. He’s also talking about stepping into scripted comedy, which is interesting because the man is naturally funnier than half the comics out here. And then he hit us with the community angle. He opened a garden in Queens, his home turf, and he credited Bette Midler for inspiring him to do it. That’s growth, that’s giving back, and that’s a side of Fif we don’t always get to see. This is the kind of story that makes him feel like one of us, not just a superstar. He went from Boo Boo to boss, and now he’s using his power to greenlight projects and plant gardens. Real ones respect that.
